Controversy over ‘bullying driving’… Roh Seon-yeong and Kim Bo-reum confirmed to pay 3 million won
Speed skater Kim Bo-reum won the final part of a civil lawsuit filed against former national teammate Roh Seon-young for being harassed.
According to the legal community today (13th), both Kim Bo-reum and Noh Seon-young did not appeal within the deadline after the appeal court sentenced that ‘Roh Seon-young must compensate 3 million won’ on the 21st of last month, so the ruling was confirmed. As a result, the legal dispute between the two ended with Kim Bo-reum’s partial victory in two and a half years.안전놀이터
Kim Bo-reum has been criticized by public opinion for the ‘bullying driving’ controversy that arose after the quarterfinals in the women’s team pursuit of speed skating at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. However, public opinion reversed when the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism found that there was no intentional bullying in the audit.
Afterwards, Kim Bo-reum claimed that she was harassed by Noh Seon-young from 2010 to 2018, when the Olympics were held, and she filed a lawsuit for damages in November 2020 demanding 200 million won at the Seoul Central District Court.
In February of last year, the first trial ruled that Roh Seon-young should compensate 3 million won, saying that the fact of verbal abuse was acknowledged. Last month, the second trial dismissed both sides’ appeals and maintained the first trial.
