Former KIA Tucker Kim Ha-Sung joins SD 40-man roster

Former KIA player Preston Tucker (33) has been added to the 40-man roster of the San Diego Padres of the Major League Baseball (MLB).

Kevin Acey, a San Diego reporter for the San Diego Union-Tribune, announced Tucker’s signing on June 19 (Korean time) and said, “He was signed because of a clause in his contract that requires San Diego to release him if he is not called up.”안전놀이터

The club also announced that it had “signed Tucker, who was playing for Triple-A El Paso, to a major league contract.” However, Tucker was placed on the 10-day disabled list with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Tucker played for KIA from 2019 to 2021. In three seasons, he hit .284 with 50 home runs and 222 RBIs. He then returned to the United States and played in the minors with Atlanta and San Diego. In 44 games with El Paso this season, he is batting .342 with a .468 on-base percentage, .658 slugging percentage, 10 home runs and 36 RBIs.

If Tucker is able to play in a major league game after recovering from his injury, it will be his first big league appearance since 2018. He played three seasons in the major leagues before coming to Korea, batting .222 (600-for-133) with 23 home runs and 68 RBIs.
