Gimcheon appoints Jeong Jeong-yong as new commander

Jung Jung-yong will take the helm of Gimcheon Sangmu.

Gimcheon announced on the 26th that it has appointed Jung Jung-yong as its second head coach.

Chung took charge of the U-20 national team in 2019, leading them to their first-ever runner-up finish at a FIFA-organised tournament. He also led Seoul Eland FC for three seasons from November 2019 to the end of 2022.스포츠토토

With U-20 runner-up Cho Young-wook on the first list of the ’23 Second National Armed Forces Athletes (Military)’ programme, as well as former U-20 national team players Lee Ji-sol, Uhm Won-sang and Jeong Ho-jin on the final list, Chung will once again be looking for synergy.

“I was appointed in the middle of the season, so I have a lot of responsibility. I will do my best as a coach to achieve the K League 2 championship and K League 1 promotion that all fans are looking forward to.”

Jung will take charge of the team from 1 June and will make his managerial debut on 4 June against the Jeonnam Dragons.

Meanwhile, Sung Hans-soo, who served as head coach for the first half of the 2023 season, will return as assistant coach and assist Jung alongside the existing coaches.
