“I was determined to score 10 points in the last game…”
In a game with playoff implications, sophomore guard Seung-yup Baek (184 cm) made his presence felt from the outside.
Dongguk University’s Baek Seung-yup contributed to his team’s 82-69 victory over Kyung Hee University in the 2023 KUSF College Basketball U-League on Thursday at Dongguk University’s Seoul Campus Gymnasium.먹튀검증
On the day, Baek finished with 19 points, including five 3-pointers (50%), five rebounds, and one assist. The game was tightly contested in the first half, but Dongguk University began to pull away in the second half. Baek Seung-yeop even made back-to-back three-pointers in the third quarter to keep the opposition at bay.
After the game, Baek Seung-yeop said, “I’m so happy with today’s victory that I’m almost in tears. In fact, I had a serious shoulder injury at the beginning of the season, so my arm couldn’t go up at all, and I just finished my rehabilitation, so I shot from two days ago, and I think my shooting feeling has returned since then.”
“Before the season, the coach told me that (Lee) Seung-hoon, who graduated, had to fill the gap of his brother, but after I hurt my shoulder, my shots weren’t going in, so he told me not to be too focused on shooting. But today, he told me to shoot to my heart’s content (laughs).”
Baek Seung-yup confessed that he was troubled by the comments around him and his shoulder injury. “I heard a lot of things like, ‘You have a second-year jinx,’ and no one believed me. I wish I had done this at the beginning of my career,” he said, adding, “I’m still thinking about it.
Dongguk University is now preparing to play against Chosun University on the 26th. They will have to wait and see how the other teams fare after their victory. Baek Seung-yup concluded the interview by saying, “I scored 19 points today, but I will play with the determination to make 10 three-pointers against Chosun.”
