Korean team winning first championship in 22 years? ‘Champion’ Korean Air’s challenge has begun
Korean Air Jumbos, the V-League’Champion’ in the 2022-2023 season, takes on a meaningful challenge. Even the players selected for the national team will join forces to challenge to win the international competition.
The Korean Air Volleyball Team will participate in the 2023 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championships held in Bahrain. This competition is hosted by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), and only AVC-affiliated league winning clubs can participate. Korean Air, which won the championship last season, will step out as the champion representing Korea.
In the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, which started in 1999, the Korean team won the championship in the past. It is Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, the winning team in 2000 and 2001. However, this period was before the launch of the V-League, a domestic professional volleyball league. Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance participated in the competition as the winning team of the Super League, an industrial league, not as a professional club, and vomited their spirits by winning the championship for two consecutive years.
So, Korean Air is the first ever to have a male professional team participate. This year, a total of 16 countries (Australia, Bahrain, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Hong Kong, and Kuwait), including Korea, will participate.
Korean Air’s participation is a level of power upgrade by strengthening international competitiveness. A total of 16 Korean Air players, including Han players Kwak Seung-seok and Jung Ji-seok, will participate in this tournament. Lim Dong-hyuk, Kim Kyu-min, Jeong Han-yong, and Kim Min-jae, who were selected as national team members, also participated in the Bahrain Games and are scheduled to return to Jincheon national team training.
The schedule is very tight. The team departed for Bahrain via Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 11th. And after finishing local adaptation, we will play our first game against Australia on the 14th. After that, 7 games will be played over 8 days. It’s like there’s a game almost every day. Physical fitness and conditioning are key.토스카지노
