Seattle’s ‘devastated’ by Ray Tommy John surgery… Next year’s season is also ‘opaque’
It has been revealed that Robbie Ray (Seattle Mariners) even underwent Tommy John surgery.
Seattle announced on the 4th (Korean time) that Ray underwent Tommy John surgery in Texas on the same day.
Ray had flexor surgery last week and is out this season.
However, it seems that the injury was surprisingly serious after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Initially, it was expected that he would return with the start of next year’s season.
It usually takes 12 to 14 months of rehabilitation after Tommy John surgery, but it can take up to 18 months.
Rehabilitation may take longer, as Ray underwent Tommy John surgery in addition to flexor surgery. He can return as early as July of next year, but a season out cannot be ruled out.
Ray was placed on the injured list after his first start of the season.ㅋㅋㅋ벳
Ray, who signed a contract with Seattle after receiving the American League Cy Young Award in 2021, was sluggish with an ERA of 3.71 in 2022.
With Ray’s long-term departure, Seattle is facing serious pitching rotation problems.
